I’d probably start with ERWA – their market calls for submissions lists publishers and zines looking for shorter work. Also, Sizzler Editions does publish short story collections so that’s an option too! Best of luck Jerrica,

HI! Im recently getting back into writing stories and I realize this may be a stron point for me. I’m not sure at all where to send a short story for approval. Where would I look to sell. And again Im only talking short stories. Hopefully novels will come later.

Great advice and your first statement is so true. I can go to a website, read about how to write about erotica and then I’m left with several unanswered questions including what you just answered in this post. (Thank you!) I was debating about whether to create a series or to write several stand-alones. Now I see a series will be a more profitable route.

P.S. I searched “how to write erotic short stories” and this was the first search result.

I appreciate the practical advice you’ve given. That helps in looking for a publisher and also gives a writer a time frame of 3 years to consider for a cycle of a story / book. What you’ve written also confirms my hunches as a newbie writer who has one story published as an ebook, one to be released in May, and one more I’m finishing up. I’m now developing ideas for a series of the shorts and meanwhile will finish my novel in the next few months. I know my novel, at this point, once accepted even as an ebook won’t be out until early 2012 or summer 2012. This helps with the planning cycle. Thank you.

Wow, this is remarkably good advice. I was just googling around looking for some publishing advice. It’s a shame this isn’t ranked higher in the search engines, because it’s very practical and applicable advice. It works for fiction in general, not just erotica/pr0n.
